Sushant Kumar Agarwal is the driving force behind Kamarhatty today. Widely recognized as an industry stalwart, he is credited with numerous groundbreaking achievements in the field of jute manufacturing, technology, and modernization. An active member of the Indian Jute Industries Research Association (IJIRA), he has been at the forefront of our group's visionary expansion. Mr. Agarwal is greatly passionate about his work and has initiated a new division within Kamarhatty, where linen yarn will be manufactured, further expanding our commitment to innovation and quality in the industry.

Harsh Nahata

Director

Harsh Nahata holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a distinguished Chartered Financial Analyst, earning a gold medal. He also holds a Master's in Business Administration with specialisations in finance and marketing. With experience in engineering and marketing financial services, Mr. Nahata brings a rich background to our team. Hailing from a family with over 50 years of expertise in raw jute supply, he possesses extensive knowledge and experience in the trading of raw jute. His fresh ideas and perspective breathe new life into an industry with a century-old legacy.

Dhurbajyoti Burman Ray

President Linyarn Textiles

Mr. D. Burman Ray is a seasoned professional with extensive experience spanning nearly forty years in the textile manufacturing industry. Holding a postgraduate degree in textile engineering and an MBA in finance, he has showcased his expertise across various functions at different levels, including P&L responsibility. With a specialisation in linen yarn manufacturing, Mr. Ray brings a wealth of knowledge and insights to the table. His impressive career trajectory underscores his commitment to excellence and innovation in the field of textiles.

K. Sreenivasa Rao

Independent Director

Mr K.Sreenivasa Rao holds 35 years of banking experience in all functional areas with a focus on assets business. Along with this he has 2 years of experience in the product team with Reliance Industries and 1 year experience in MicroFinance operations.

Ila Sengupta

Independent Director

Mrs. Ila Sengupta has 30 years of banking experience and is registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). She is currently associated with 4 Companies where she holds active positions and is a director with Kamarhatty Company Ltd.

Carbon Neutrality & Green Tech

We have implemented energy-efficient processes, invested in renewables, and offset emissions. we have set up heat recovery, ZLD plant (95% water recovery), rainwater harvesting, solar power, solar water heating, and alternative fuels.

Eco-friendly Products

Develop and expand biodegradable jute products, minimising synthetic materials and innovating for modern needs, ensuring ecological integrity. Focus on blended fabrics and durable materials for diverse applications.

Waste Reduction

Take steps towards zero-waste manufacturing processes by recycling and reusing jute waste into new products and efficiently utilising all by-products ensuring a zero-waste manufacturing process and taking steps for sustainability and environmental stewardship.

The milestones and achievements that shaped our path
1887

Origins

British managing agency Jardine Henderson Ltd set up Kamarhatty Company Limited along the banks of the Ganges river.
1986

Acquisition

Mr. Badri Prasad Agarwal acquired Kamarhatty Company Ltd. in Kolkata, West Bengal. Prior to this, he had 25 years of experience working with bast fibres.
2002

Evolution

We navigated challenging times by investing in technology and innovation by developing and introducing new and better machinery.
2010

Expansion

We added Kamakshi Jute Mills, located in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, to the Kamarhatty Group, with a daily capacity of 60 metric tons.
2014

Further Expansion

We added Kehsava Jute Mills, located in Vishakapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, to the Kamarhatty Group, with a daily capacity of 40 metric tons.
2021

Energy Sufficiency

We introduced Solar Power generation with a capacity of 2.5 megawatt of power and took a step towards a sustainable future.
2022

Diversification

We entered a new segment and set up Linyarn Textiles with a capacity of 1200 metric ton of linen yarn per year.
